Finally, the all new 2024 X2 U10 Generation is here. I'll admit, the previous generation of all the X2 F39's I thought were an abomination to all of BMW and it's name. This front shot sums it all up for me of what I think - aggressive looking and surprisingly fun to whip around in the city or on the freeway.

EXTERIOR
The exterior of the vehicle is striking and bold compared to the previous generation, and is almost as if the vehicle was a hybrid of the BMW XM, and 2 Series Gran Coupe had a baby with a hunchback - the front shows a ferocious look while the rest of the vehicle shows coupe type features. Equipped with nicely shaped LED headlamps, slanted rear trunk that drops off like the XM, this one is a real headturner. The only thing I would say besides the mirrors being the knock off M Mirrors, is that HUGE wheel gap from the rubber to the fender, it almost looks as if we can squeeze another 2" of wheel on the vehicle.
Besides the wheel gap, the M style Mirrors are a nice edition with the black accents, however it just seems to be a little bit of mismatching between the grill, and the 20" V Spoke Wheels - either pick all black or chrome since the pillars are already black. I guess it would be worse if the shadowline trim around the windows were chrome and the grills were black.
What's crazy about this duckbill spoiler, is that the knockoffs were sold all across ebay starting on the G80 M3s, and the G20 M340i's for the last few years, and it seems that BMW decided to jump on board. It doesn't look so bad in black, but I could see if this was on the X2 28i, would be a little offputting if they didn't want the blacked out look.
INTERIOR
Interior took me a few to get used to - missing buttons and simplified just like the rest of their shenanigans on every other vehicle they are remixing the guts with. The great news is that it only took me a bit to get used to the minimalistic look, and the weird vents. We all used to remember the 10,000 buttons and red dot matrix displays right?
I mean, not much of a shifter, but it actually feels ergonomic. If they didn't provide paddle shifters, I would be really dissapointed. The ability to shift into gears without grasping something took me a few tries, but after that, felt like second nature. Actually gives the cabin a lot more room and simplistic feel.
Overall, compared to what I was thinking it would look like in person, versus building it online on BMW's Build Your Own - The in person product deserves much praise. The rear for myself, personally is a difference of taste, but I think they nailed the front grill look, with the hood lines and M type aesthetics. As far as the sound, it sounds actually decent for 2.0 Liter 4 Cylinder. 312 Horsepower is a lot of fun for something so small - and the vehicle definitely doesn't feel as much body roll around turns.
