I think over the last 3 years, especially during COVID I've purchased so many gadgets
and knick knacks to think I was going to make the plunge into the camping world, but never successfully did so. I just kept buying and buying more gadgets to pretend like I was. It wasn't too long ago, that I tried to light my backyard fire pit, with some paper towel as a fire starter, no preparation of wood, and tried to be just like every YouTube video I saw - light it, and the fire should be roaring. Boy, was I wrong - I used this Bayite 1/2 x 6 Survival Drilled Flint Ferro Rod from Amazon, not having any experience of shaving down any of the magnesium bits into a controlled area and kept striking until something caught fire. I probably did this for about 15 minutes until I realized I needed some tinder and some smaller pieces of wood. After 45 minutes of trying to light it with the Ferro Rod trying to look cool, I threw some oil in the fire pit and everything finally caught fire.
THIS time around, I got this fire starter square, in addition to using this Plasma lighter and succesfully got my Solo Stove and backyard pit going. Don't make my mistake... check it out.

Here, the box came in a small package from Amazon, and shows that there is No Flame, Windproof and a Safety Lock. The package was pretty straight forward, and easy to open.

Ripping the box open, the Plasma Lighter was pretty simple to open, came with 1 USB-A to USB-C charger, and no wall brick adapter. That's simple enough. After opening it up, the Lighter came with a slide mechanism that allows you slide forward an unsheath the rest of the device, revealing the power button to turn it on. I think that's a great feature considering anything that can light fires or sparks should be protected.

Here's a quick video that shows how fast it lights a piece of paper towel. I was surprised that it lights almost instantly, and I had no issues getting anything started. Now the only problem is if you are looking for a flame or get something going that soaks up the area, versus a precision point ignition - this might be an issue. For my personal use - lighting a Solo Stove (with the help of a fire starter square), paper towel, or a candle, this definitely fits the bill, and especially at the price being rechargeable, I am totally in.
You can get one of these from here, 4.5 Stars and over 7k ratings, for the price I don't think you can really go wrong!
